Aerotech Golf shafts deliver a top 10 finish at the U.S. Open

Aerotech Golf announces that its SteelFiber composite iron shafts earned a Top 10 finish at the U.S. Open Championship, delivering an enviable share of the $1.35 million winnings. As the second major of the year, the U.S. Open was a perfect venue for SteelFiber shafts to claim their sixth Top 10 placement of the year, and demonstrate the unique playing benefits of composite technology.

Manufactured by Aerotech Golf, the industry leader in innovative composite shaft technology, SteelFiber composite shafts were played by a former United States Men's Amateur Golf Champion and All-American for Georgia Tech, who tied for sixth-place at the U.S. Open, playing SteelFiber i95 taper tip constant weight shafts in his irons. The strong finish moved him to eighth on the 2010 PGA TOUR Money List.

"Historically, this is our best finish in a major event, but it is even more rewarding for us to see how more and more players on the pro tours are witnessing how SteelFiber technology provides the playing benefits of both graphite and steel. Unlike traditional shaft designs, SteelFiber combines a high-modulus graphite core with micro-thin steel fibers to create an extremely stable design that delivers consistency of steel and the playability benefits of graphite," says Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary.

SteelFiber shafts feature a high-modulus graphite core and 59 miles of steel fiber covering the surface of each shaft, providing golfers with the power of graphite and the stability of steel. The shaft's graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce a optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.

On the PGA Tour this year, Aerotech shafts have delivered Top 10 finishes at the SBS Championship, Bob Hope Classic, World Golf Championships-CA Championship, Shell Houston Open, Memorial Tournament and the U.S. Open Championship. Specializing in uniquely engineered, performance-enhancing golf shafts, Aerotech has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Fenwick, Srixon, Lynx, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.

True Temper Sports sponsors St. Jude Classic's on-course signs

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- True Temper Sports, the number one golf shaft manufacturer in the world, is adding its own personal touch and sponsorship to this year's St. Jude Classic, Memphis' official PGA TOUR event. While many tournaments use the "Quiet Please" signs, marshals at the Memphis tournament quiet the crowd for the TOUR players utilizing the famous Hush Y'all paddles.

For the first time in the tournament's history, the traditional paddle handles are being replaced this year with True Temper's Dynamic Gold golf shafts. True Temper, headquartered at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn., is the official sponsor of the on-course signs which will be utilized by the marshals during the tournament June 7-13, 2010.

"Sponsoring the Hush Y'all paddles gave us the opportunity as one of the leading golf equipment companies to support the PGA Tour event that is literally in our own backyard," says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. "Our partnership with the St. Jude Classic also brought about the perfect marriage between the tournament's hallmark signage and True Temper's hallmark golf shaft, Dynamic Gold. In addition to highlighting the shaft that is played by more professional golfers worldwide than any other shaft in golf, this sponsorship also provides our company the chance to support the wonderful work and programs of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital here in Memphis."

For more than 20 years, the Hush Y'all paddle has been a southern-style reminder for patrons of the Memphis tournament to remain quiet during play. The paddle has become such a sought after souvenir that the tournament's merchandising tents sell out of them each year.

With manufacturing facilities and offices located throughout the country and the world, True Temper retains the largest market share globally in golf shafts. While True Temper offers several brands with many unique models, the Dynamic Gold and Project X brands dominate many of the headlines from the world golf tours. True Temper has already won 20 PGA TOUR events during the 2010 season and is consistently played by over 90 percent of the players in the field each and every week.

The company markets a complete line of golf shafts and performance sports products in more than 30 countries throughout the world. True Temper Sports proudly employs 1,000 individuals in ten facilities located in the United States, Europe, Japan, China and Australia.

Aldila Shafts tops wood, hybrid shaft counts at Crowne Plaza Invitational

POWAY, Calif. -- Aldila continued its dominance as the #1 Shaft on Tour by winning the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Crowne Plaza Invitational on the PGA Tour. Led by their number one shaft, the VooDoo®, "The Hottest Shafts In Golf" was the most popular shaft in the field with 24 more wood shafts and twice as many hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer, according to the Darrell Survey.

"The VooDoo simply helps generate consistently straight and long shots - with feel competitor shafts can't match," said Stewart Bahl, Aldila's Marketing Manager.

Benefiting from the outstanding accuracy of the VooDoo Prototype in his driver, the ninth place finisher at the Crowne Plaza Invitational posted his second Top 10 finish of the year.
